Starting
a new Elephant Calendar
Before you start writing in a new Elephant Calendar
it is important that you mark the New Calendar check
box at the front of the calendar. Marking this box
tells the viewer that you are starting a new calendar.
Note - If you forget to mark the
New Calendar check box, information from the same
date pages in different calendars may be downloaded
to the same place. This is likely to make the calendar
information confusing to read and illegible. Once
the new calendar check box is marked, notes previously
created from the calendar cannot be updated if additional
information is added to the same page.

Writing
on a page
As you write with your Elephant Calendar, each stroke
is stored in the pen's memory. To view and use this
information it must be downloaded to your computer.
To write on a page, follow these steps:
- Take the top off your digital
pen. For more information on digital pens, visit
www.elephantcalendar.com/digital_pen.htm.
- Write the text and diagrams
you want to record in your Elephant Calendar.
Note - If you want to add more text or diagrams
to a page, simply add the extra information.
- Put the top on your digital
pen.
You can download the information
from a page you have written at any time. See Downloading
data to your computer for more details.

Modifying
a page
You may write in your calendar and then make modifications
in the same way you would any other calendar. You
can return to a page as many times as you want to
add more information or modify text and drawings.
After you modify a page and download,
the new information you have written on a page is
added to the existing document.

Downloading
your handwriting
Downloading takes place when your digital pen is
placed in its cradle or is synchronized utilizing
Blue Tooth technology. Please see your pen's manufacturer's
instructions for an explanation of this process.
The Elephant Calendar Software must be installed
on each computer to which you want to download information.
When you download, the information stored in the
memory of your digital pen is transferred to your
computer.
- Connect your pen to your computer
by following your pen's manufacturer's instructions
- The Elephant Calendar Download
Manager dialog box is displayed and the download
starts automatically if you have either not set
a password for your pen or you have set your computer
to remember your password.
- If you have set your pen to
start the download process manually, you may begin
by right-clicking on the Personal Digital Pen
icon in the task bar and selecting Start Download
Now.
- When the downloading is complete
your Elephant Calendar Software is usually automatically
displayed.
